Truth be told from a financial background perspective I’m really nothing special. I do not have a degree in finance nor the stupid letters that come after my name. I don’t have super-secret insider information. All I have is a simple and proven roadmap to financial success that I hope I inspire you to follow as well. I’m currently a (very younger) 30 something and utilizing this blog to document my journey from having nothing, to having a net worth of $1 million dollars. Truth be told when I graduated from college with my undergraduate degree, I started somewhere in the negative $20 thousand range.

I grew up in a lower middle class neighborhood in the suburbs of Los Angeles. I did not and have not received any large cash inheritances. On my paternal family history, I am the first generation born in America (and proud to say that the family arrived in America LEGALLY) and am the son of a frugal blue collar worker. My maternal family history is not very much different, both sides were hard working class people wanting the best for their next of kin. Everything that I have is not from luck. It is from being intentional with my money. I do not utilize an investment advisor for my investment decisions and am 100% self-taught.

Here are some X’s and O’s to get started: I am married with a baby on the way and my wife and I live on the North Side of Chicago. We are both employed full-time. I own 0 credit cards, have 0 outstanding debts, have never and will never have a car payment, oh...and we're planning to pay cash for our first house together (I am aware of a startling statistic that 100% of foreclosures are on homes that have mortgages).
